The Fagon Guide to Capitol Hill landed on neighborhood doorsteps this afternoon and I was thrilled to see this old friend. While phone books are certainly relics of an era gone by, the guide also provides glimpses of everyday life on the Hill as well as all for on area businesses to help keep your dollars in the neighborhood. There are sections on everything from pets and kids to volunteering and cultural organizations. and you’ll find ads and photos of every realtor in town. Plus, it has the added value of a historical overview by our very own Robert Pohl, of Monday’s weekly column Lost Capitol Hill.
The Fagon guide has been published since 1992 by the same folks who bring you the Hill Rag and is named for publisher Jean-Keith Fagon. Click here for an online version.
A whopping 14,500 guides are distributed to doorsteps on the Hill and in Southwest. After the door-to-door completed extra copies go local real estate offices. If you haven’t received a copy you can contact editor Andrew Lightman at andrew@hillrag.com.
