Perhaps its not as exciting as the start of Daylight Saving Time (which is next weekend, WAHOO!) but tomorrow (March 1st) marks the start of residential street sweeping for the spring.

Sweeping will take place through the end of October and information about the day and time your street will be swept are posted in your neighborhood or wherever you happen to be parking on Capitol Hill.

Remember, when it’s “your day” be sure to move your car to the opposite side of the street, or you’ll get a ticket from the Sweepercam.

Parking enforcement of residential sweeping violations begins on Monday, March 12th. There is a tiny grace period for your car, should you read this post and then quickly forget.

No sign on your street? The Department of Public Works says where there are no signs, sweeping will take place twice a month and cars don’t need to be moved.

For further information, call DPS at (202) 673-6833 or visit their website.
