If you are sticking to New Year’s resolutions, and one of them happens to be to explore new restaurants and do something fun and different — maybe eat more fried chicken, possibly paired with waffles — then you should visit Art and Soul, 415 New Jersey Avenue, NW.
After being closed for a month for renovations to give the place a more Southern feel, the restaurant — housed within the Liaison Hotel and two blocks from Union Station– reopened on Wednesday. The staff is eager to welcome patrons back. They are even offering a $35 three-course tasting menu. It’s like restaurant week, but without all the crowds.
As for me, all I could think of while writing this is, “chicken and waffles.”
