Today is Your Chance to Give 2 the Max!

Today, starting at midnight, is Give to the Max Day across the Washington region. Give to the Max Greater Washington is a day for Washingtonians to come together to raise as much money as possible for area nonprofits in 24 hours, starting at midnight (12:00 AM) on November 9 through midnight (12:00 AM) on November 10. By engaging thousands of residents to support their favorite charities in one day, Give to the Max Day is trying to break the national record for the best online giving metropolitan region event, showcasing the Greater Washington region’s strong community.

There are TONS of local charities participating. Typing in 20002 and 20003 into the search engine yielded almost 700 organizations.

CHAW will be raising money for the Capitol Hill Animal Alphabet Arts Project (CHAAAP) to create street sign sculptures. Conceived by Capitol Hill resident Stephen Young and planned in conjunction with the District Department of Transportation, CHAAAP will issue a call to local artists for designs for animal street sign sculptures, with winners chosen by a panel of judges. Winning artists’ designs will be commissioned and installed on or near the appropriate street signs.  To donate go here  http://give2max.razoo.com/story/Chaw

My employer, the Atlas Performing Arts Center, is participatingg  as are most of our resident companies such as Joy of Motion Dance Center  and the Capital City Symphony.

In addition to the donations organizations are also eligible to receive prizes and rewards.

So have a look and see if your favorite charity is participating– better yet, charities. Remember no donation is too small!
