Monday Morning Circle Time

Cupcakes adorned with the MOTH logo donated by Hello Cupcake

Morning all.  I hope you were able to stay warm and somewhat dry this weekend.  Icky, cold and rainy.  The sudden chill took me by surprise and I learned that the children need an entire wardrobe’s worth of clothes as they have outgrown everything. Hello Internet!

It was a good weekend for online shopping but there were reasons to get off the couch if you could manage it.

The MOTH Family Fest was held in Garfield Park despite the weather.

The Redskins won although it seems the fans in my house didn’t seem too happy about it.

This weekend we said goodbye to the Hawk ‘n’ Dove, in its current form. Several of our bloggers attended the farewell party yesterday so maybe we will hear about that somber event.

So what did you do this weekend?

Jon: We spent Saturday mostly running errands and getting caught up on laundry thanks to the soggy weather, though we did make a brief appearance at the MOTH picnic in the afternoon.  Sunday was equally
productive and ended with a trip out to Dulles Town Center for the Big Apple Circus.

Nichole: I spent Friday afternoon hanging out with some friends over in Petworth. Saturday I had friends over for dinner, followed by a trip to Last Exit in Mt. Pleasant to fete a friend on her birthday. Sunday was brunch back in Petworth again, followed by a last trip to the Hawk ‘n’ Dove to pay my respects by sharing a pitcher with a friend.

Jen: I had a lovely weekend! Kicked off by a late lunch at Truckeroo and an Little League game in Northwest. Saturday morning I watched two soccer games in the freezing rain. That afternoon I welcomed many old friends to the MOTH picnic which doubled as a reunion for the women who were there in the beginning with me over ten years ago.  We hung out in the freezing rain in the afternoon and the kids played as if nothing had changed. That evening I took them over to H Street where they were stunned at the changes. Sunday we continued the MOTHstalgia with a brunch in Chevy Chase and later on hosted a friend’s kids for dinner that evening so she could go out. Went to sleep loving this little village that is the Hill.
