Is it really August already? I can remember being little and feeling like summer stretched on forever and I loved it. Why doesn’t that happen anymore? Here are some options to fill what are hopefully the lazy days of an August summer.
In a bit of shameless self promotion, my tomatoes, peppers and basil are all coming in nicely, but that doesn’t mean I don’t still enjoy a weekly trip to Eastern Market for some delicious summer vegetables. Always something on my to do list.
The Atlas Summer Film Series continues this weekend. Movies include The Crying Game tonight, West Side Story tomorrow at 8p and Jungle Fever on Sunday at 4p.
In the mood for some new kicks? Sneaker Con is tomorrow and Saturday. Buy, sell or trade sneakers from 12-7p.
This weekend is the last for the “Food, Friends and Funk” show at the Corner Store Arts Center. THIH’s own Maria Helena Carey has been a distinguished participant!
