Changes to Comment Policy

We love that this has turned into a truly interactive blog and we love our readers and our commenters who engage with us and each other on our posts here at The Hill is Home. We hope that the lively conversations will continue for years to come.

Our two year anniversary has come and gone, and we’re in the process of working out some growing pains. To that end, we’ve revised our comment policy and changed the process for commenting on this blog in an effort to improve the level of discourse and make the blog more enjoyable for all of us. Beginning today we’ll be using Disqus as a registration widget and will now have threaded comments. (If you’re a DCist reader, you’re already familiar with Disqus.)

In addition, the language of our comment policy has changed a bit — if you have a moment, please look it over. It basically boils down to “play nice.” You’re entitled to your opinions (and each of us to ours) but before you comment, consider whether or not it’s something you’d say out loud, without the benefit of the anonymity of the internet.

Thanks for being a part of what makes this blog great – we look forward to continuing to hear from you!
