Wish as I might that this weekend were Easter (read: excellent excuse to eat as many Cadbury eggs as I’d like) there’s still one more week to go. So, how can you fill the time until the self-induced sugar coma begins? Read on.
Tonight, there will be a special Hard Hat Tour at the Hill Center exclusively for CHAMPS members. The event starts at 6pm and if you’re one of the 20 lucky registrants please report back on your findings, but not before you enjoy the wine and snacks being offered post event.
Also tonight at Congressional Cemetery is the Civil Rights Heroes Tour. The tour starts at 6pm at the cemetery chapel.
Who needs Saturday morning cartoons? Head on down to CHAW, 545 7th Street, SE, at 10am for The Singing Lizard in Concert! It should be a fun show full of songs kids and adults will enjoy. Admission is free.
CHAW is also offering a free dollmaking workshop on Saturday morning. Sugarfoots Dollicious Making Workshop starts at 10:15am. Registration is required for children ages 6 and up.
The H Street Farmers’ Market returns at 9am Saturday. Stop by to stock up on fresh produce and other goodies. There will also be new vendors, including Mark’s Kettle-Korn! Yum. Opening day will also feature Dolcezza Gelato.
Lace up those running sneakers! The DC Urban Challenge Race is at 1:30pm at The Yards Park on Saturday.
The African Continuum Theatre Company opened Blues for an Alabama sky this week. Ticket prices are “pay what you can” every Thursday during the run, starting with a $10 minimum.
