I have some very well-worn trails starting at my front door. Among them are the paths to Lincoln park with the dog, down East Capitol for a nice run, and to Harris Teeter because my husband is addicted to a granola only they carry. Along the way, there are a couple of places I frequently see and always wonder what they’re like on the inside. Lucky for me, two of them popped up on the list of open houses this week.
First is a building on East Capitol that always strikes me as a peaceful setting. The 2/2/1 condo that just went on the market seems to confirm that image. It has a fireplace, an updated kitchen and the whole place has a clean modern feel with plenty of natural light.
The second is a place at Jenkins Row. Having gone a couple of times a month since the Harris Teeter opened, I think I’ve been brainwashed by the sign in the garage extolling the virtues of living above a sushi chef and aisles of wine and beer (maybe I added that last virtue on my own). This 1/1 has a convenient layout that opens the kitchen up to the living area enough so that guests can grab something off the counter, but not so much that you can’t hide a little messiness. There’s also a great view of a courtyard I didn’t even know was there.
There are plenty of open houses this weekend, so maybe you’ll have a chance to satisfy your own curiosity. Thanks to Phil and Jeanne for sending us the link!
