H Street Festival Photos

Conservative estimates have put attendance at Saturday’s Festival at 30,000 people. That’s truly amazing – especially if you remember the first festival, only 7 years ago in 2002 (it was pretty lame in those early years – you’d be forgiven for skipping it)!

A quick list of things I saw that I loved: all the amazing patios at the street’s bars and restaurants, cornhole with DC United, DC Rollergirls arm wrestling all comers, Mayor-elect Vincent Gray, Ward 6 Councilmember Tommy Wells, amazing face painting at the H Street Connection, Smokey’s bbq, the Argo’s giant fish tacos, HR from Bad Brains (!), the Baltimore Rock Opera Society (it is my mission to bring them back to DC for a show at the Atlas!) and seeing so many friends and making new ones! Jon Reaves was kind enough to take some pictures for us, here are a few great ones, below.

You can check out more of Jon’s photos (along with Maria’s and everyone else’s) at our flickr stream!

What was your favorite thing at the Festival this year?
