THIH Happy Hour

You know what I’m tired of? Sweating.  In the summer, there’s nothing like a nice, cool cocktail to kick off the weekend.  That’s why every Friday for the rest of the summer we’ll be talking to our favorite bartenders around the Hill to get their suggestions for the perfect drink at your Friday happy hour.

For our first installment I talked to Brad and Lamar at Charlie Palmer Steak.  (I was there to meet their wine and events guru, Nadine, so check back next week for more on CP.)  To combat the 95° blahs, Lamar recommends his Blueberry Mojito.  He starts with muddled blueberries and fresh lime, adds Bacardi rum, Van Gogh acai-blueberry vodka (which has a nice color), and simple syrup, then tops it off with some mint.  If that doesn’t quench your thirst, I don’t know what will.  Just in case, though, I also hear he makes a refreshingly lip-puckering Blueberry Lemon Drop.

Brad chimed in to encourage us to check out the lounge menu while sipping our mojito, “the tuna tartar would be a great compliment – its made from yellowfin flown in from Hawaii.” He said even if a steak dinner isn’t what we’re after, we can still find plenty of options on the menu. “You don’t have to come here just for a big dining experience.  Come in and enjoy what we have to offer at different price points.”  They certainly do have a little something for everyone.

    It does, though we have a pitcher of mojitos currently chilling in the fridge.
