So a lovely weekend wasn’t it? Unless you were rained out of an event or your pool forced you to leave just because they saw a little bit of lightening. The MOTH Picnic Family Fest went on and many toddlers were joyful and went to bed tired and well snow-coned.

Liz: Kid’s birthday party at H Street Country Club–Happy Birthday, Stella!–with putt-putt, planted some vegetables in alley garden plot, saw Barracks Row nightlife from Cava’s patio (nice wait staff!)  on a sticky almost-summer naught and participated in MOTH picnic, which had awesome entertainment and went on despite all kinds of Doppler threats. Met oldest and youngest MOTH. (list-serv age, not real age)

Kyra: My family and I took a walk to all of our favorite haunts–Frager’s, Eastern Market and Prego–then headed to a game at Nats Park.

Jon: We had quite the busy weekend around town: Friday night at H Street Playhouse (see review of “Gretty Good Time”), and errands all over town on Saturday.  A quiet family Saturday night watching the “Princess and the Frog” was followed by a social Sunday: the Results for Haiti fundraiser and then the fun and stomach-filling annual MOTH picnic.

Robert: Birthday party at Watkins on Saturday (Happy Birthday, Anja!) and then the MOTH picnic on Saturday.

Tory: I’m currently with my family in Sonoma, enjoying wine country!

(If we had a winner of the awesome weekend event I think we could hand Tory the ribbon.)

Tim: Spent Saturday watching other people work. Took a tour at Congressional Cemetery and watched my wife pull up shrubs and replace them. Too hot for me to help, but I’m sure she appreciated my running commentary. Sunday, back to work.

And Jen: Saturday was Sports day, watched each kid play his final soccer/baseball game of the season (that joyful singing you hear is me happy about getting my Saturday’s back). Ate junk food at the Nats game Saturday night. Sunday tried to do some lounging at Cheverly Pool but the lighting put a stop to that. Ended up at the MOTH picnic amazed at what these energetic young MOTHs put together. Observed the dessert contest to write about it for THIH and must publically thank Judge Leah from Hill’s Kitchen for giving me tastes of all her desserts.
