From the press release:
Today, Wednesday June 30, parents and children will take a virtual summer learning adventure at today’s Chancellor’s Community Forum: Passport to Summer Learning, an exciting event that offers a variety of activities, exhibits and information from 13 DC-area museums, agencies and community partners to help keep students engaged academically over summer vacation.
Children will visit National Geographic exhibits and create a whirligig to take home; explore a Lego town building and get a tool kit to guide families on future visits to the National Building Museum; bring home calendars and summer reading handouts from the DC Public Libraries; and check out a wax likeness of first lady Michelle Obama from Madame Tussauds.
As they visit community partner booths, children will get stickers for their Summer Learning Passports. When children collect all stickers, they can stop by the Parent and Family Resource Center for a free peach and a “Fun and Free in DC” guide.
WHEN: TODAY, WEDNESDAY – 6:30-8 p.m., June 30
WHERE: Brent Elementary School, 301 North Carolina Ave. SE, Washington, D.C.
