Snow Emergency Declared, Again – Move Your Car by 4 pm

YIKES...courtesy of NBC4

Since the clean up from Snowmageddon isn’t tough enough, Mother Nature and El Nino are sending us another 10-20 inches of snow.  As you return from your trips to the store to stock up on more bread and milk (really folks, how much bread can you really eat in a week?!), be sure to not park your car on a snow emergency route.   DDOT will reinstate the snow emergency at 4 pm today.  So if you actually managed to get your car out, take care not to park it on a snow emergency route when you return home. Otherwise you get a $250 fine and additional fees for towing and storage at an impound lot.

If you are not sure what streets are snow emergency routes, this PDF map highlights them all.  DC also has a snow and ice control web site with some helpful information.  And if you didn’t move your car and think it was towed, call 202-541-6083.
