The Hill is Home reader Kristine Marsh alerted us to the wonderful work DDOT crews deployed over the weekend of August 7: 4th Street NE (southbound) and 6th Street NE (northbound) are now clearly delineated, with a bright coat of green paint to let motorists (and texting pedestrians?) know to watch out for oncoming bikes. Now the north- and southbound lanes bordering Stanton Park are clearly marked, bike-friendly and, dare we say it, gorgeous!
We can only hope that this deters drivers –especially drivers from other states– to slow down and be aware of the two-wheeled vehicles sharing the road. Welcome to the Hill, beautiful green lanes! We are so happy you’re here.
