Norman Metzger Wins ANC6B-03 Special Election

In case you weren’t following our coverage of last night’s ANC6B meeting on Twitter last night, we’d like to announce that Norman Metzger was the winner of the ANC6B-03 special election, filling the seat vacated by Julie Olsen.

THIH contacted Norm this morning to learn a bit more about what he plans do now that he has been elected.  Among the issues that he says he will focus on from the start is the proposal from CSX to widen the Virginia Avenue Tunnel, noting that he was “disturbed by how little specific information is available at this point.”

He encourages residents to contact him through his website (www.metzgerch.org), through direct email (normanmetzger@verizon.net), through  Twitter (@CHNorm), or Facebook (Norman Metzger).  In addition, he plans to set up a blog in the very near future.

Norm also said, “I also want to note that the election experience was I think a wonderful one not only for me but also for the two other candidates, Randy Steer and Caitlin Fennessy.  The race got the community’s attention and also a better understanding of the role and depending on the issue the importance of the ANC.  And quite selfishly I was happy I ran because I would have had a tough time deciding between Caitlin and Randy.”
