Five Guys, Ted’s Bulletin, Good Stuff Eatery, The Tune Inn — it’s pretty much safe to assume that Capitol Hill knows how to cook a good burger. But, can our neighborhood rule supreme in a DC burger battle?
Apparently, that challenge is up to Chef Teddy Folkman at Granville Moore’s.
Folkman is competing in a burger challenge that will bring together 10 chefs from across the city to compete. Granville Moore’s bison burger, served with a side of frites, is pretty much a winner in my book, but Folkman will have some tough competition against the likes of Cheff Scott Drewno from The Source, Chef Kyle Bailey from Birch & Barley and GBD, and Chef Victor Albisu from Del Campo and Taco Bamba.
Of course the competition is not just for bragging rights. The event, which will be hosted at Poste Moderne Brasserie on Sunday, June 30th, benefits local food nonprofit, Brainfood. And, one of the winners, crowned “People’s Choice,” will be voted on by those in attendance.
Want to partake in the challenge? Tickets are on-sale now and the proceeds support Brainfood.
Or, you can win tickets this week by tweeting a photo of yourself enjoying your favorite burger. Just be sure to send it to @BrainfoodDC and use the hashtag #DCBurgerBattle. Hurry the contest ends on Sunday!
