Ice Cream Jubilee Latest to Locate in The Yards

Ice Cream JubileeRemember last weekend?  Here’s a quick refresher:  there were glimpses of sun and temperatures soared (soared!) into the 50’s, allowing Washingtonians to shed multiple layers of winter garb and luring runners out to clog sidewalks and trails.  That may be over now but, despite what some groundhog may predict, spring will be here before we know it.  In celebration, with it will come the first dedicated store location for Ice Cream Jubilee.

Winner of the People’s Choice Award in last July’s DC Scoop competition, Ice Cream Jubilee will bring its creative flavors to the Lumber Shed on Water Street at 3rd Street, SE, in The Yards.  The brand is the creation of DC local Victoria Lai, a lawyer turned “icecreampreneur” (living the dream, no?).  Vanilla is well and good, but Lai offers innovative flavor combinations like Thai Iced Tea, Fluffernutter and Raspberry Rose that keep things interesting.

The store will offer ice creams and sorbets by the scoop as well as pre-packaged half pints in select flavors and special seasonal flavors.  Lai uses local cream and does her ice cream mixology at Union Kitchen, so you’re getting a genuinely local product.

Stay tuned for more details on the opening, or stay up to date via Twitter and Facebook.
