The Capitol Hill community has dug into their deep pockets to support the employees of Fragers and the other businesses affected by last month’s devastating fire at Frager’s Hardware. The Frager’s Fund, managed by the Capitol Hill Community Foundation, has received about $130,000 in contributions. The Foundation has reached out to the five small businesses (the building’s tenants) and the catering group next door to determine their needs, primarily those of their employees, and how the fund can be of assistance. While some have said yes, others are still sorting through the insurance issues related to the fire. Funds have been provided to all of the Frager’s employees. The Foundation is holding additional funds to address others needs which may arise.
