Say Farewell to Fear Of Virginia Friday Night!

Fear of Virginia, we barely new ya.

About a year and a half ago a group of friends got together with the intentions of, in their words, just “sitting around a living room, playing cover songs and drinking Kentucky Gentlemen” (the most noble of pursuits mind you) and from those sessions a band was born. Sadly the time has come to bid that band adieu as real life comes a knocking and rock and roll dues must be paid, but on Friday you’ll have the chance to experience the bands high energy rock and roll one last time.

Join Fear of Virginia and all their friends for the going away show to end all going away shows, Friday night down at Capital Hill’s very own Rock and Roll Hotel. Tickets are only $10, and are on sale NOW.

Check out the official press release below. Hope you’re ready to get your rock on Capital Hill. We’ll see you Friday night!

Farewell to Fear of Virginia

The band from DC celebrates freedom, rock, and fun, one last time at the Rock and Roll Hotel

Washington – DC band Fear of Virginia today issued the following statement:

“After rocking the District of Columbia over the last year and half, Fear of Virginia are heading into what they call “an indefinite hiatus.”  With a litany of original folk-rock songs at their disposal, the gentlemen have scheduled one more date with their beautiful fans on May 11th at the famed Rock and Roll Hotel.

What began as a few friends sitting around a living room playing cover songs and drinking Kentucky Gentlemen, has developed into an electrifying live act that has packed venues from DC9 to Velvet Lounge, from house parties to the Dunes.

Departing lead-singer and guitarist Mike Sciortino said, “We really love nothing more than watching the energy we have shared with our fans over the past year or so. To have the opportunity to rock with everyone for one last show, at a venue that has meant so much to us, is truly an honor.”

Bassist David Turner added “We are pulling out all the stops for this show. I can promise this will be the most memorable concert in Washington D.C. for years to come. Basically if you don’t enjoy this show, you probably should move to Virginia.”

The band plans to share the stage with some of the friends they have made along the way and anticipate a full room of rowdy fans. So plan on coming out early to see Ryan Villanueva and The Petticoat Tearoom as everyone gets loose for one last shot to enjoy “Friday night rock” from Fear of Virginia.
