Did you miss the call the first time around for new vendors at Eastern Market? That deadline has come and gone, but a new one has taken its place! New applications are currently being accepted until May 10 from farmers for the new open-air market to be held on Tuesdays from 3-7 pm. Please note all applications must be postmarked by the 10th.
Open spots are for the weekday market only, and farmers must be third-party certified and be regionally-based growers. Accepted applicants will be expected to sell every Tuesday beginning in June. To download an application, visit the Eastern Market website.
The Market is also accepting new vendors for the weekend in a variety of categories, including antiques, arts and crafts and prepared food vendors. I look forward to seeing some new options this summer, although I never get tired of purchasing jewelry, buying fresh flowers, eating fried dough (that’s “funnel cake” to you Mid-Atlantic folks) or drinking delicious lemonade at Eastern Market; though not necessarily in that order… or all at once.
OK! But it was just that one time.
