Fire Party and Wing Eating Contest at Capitol Lounge

I can’t believe it’s already been 6 years since a fire gutted the Capitol Lounge! The Lounge today looks much like it did pre-blaze, with notable upgrades to the bathrooms, but some things stay the same — there’s still no Miller Lite on the premises.

The Lounge is celebrating the 6th Anniversary of the fire this Tuesday, August 30, with a party (of course) featuring daylong specials including 25 cent wings, which will get you ready for the main event at 7 pm: the first annual Fire Breathing Wing Eating contest. 10 contestants will be chosen at random (pre register for the contest HERE) to vie for a prize package worth $600, including gift certificates, sporting tickets, concert tickets.  The best part? The winner’s name will be engraved on a special plaque that will hang in perpetuity on the walls of the Capitol Lounge.

Capitol Lounge will also be accepting donations on behalf of the DC Firefighters Burn Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit that provides assistance and support to firefighters (and their family members) who have been hospitalized by burn injuries sustained in the line of duty.
