Morning. It was a lovely couple of days wasn’t it? This morning is a cruel awakening after a nice dream. Blech, I want to pull the covers over my head and pretend it’s Sunday.
I hope you enjoyed this gorgeous weekend. We were treated to some delicious patio weather Friday night and the predicted showers never appeared on Saturday. Of course the major domestic event of the weekend took place in the sky. Did you go out of your way to spot the Supermoon? What did you think?
I thought it was very pretty and bright but then went to bed on the early side. Did it do something really spectacular late at night?
Claudia: spent a lot of time this weekend training for my first two races — one is a fundraiser for brain cancer research and the other for congressional cemetery. I’ve never been much of a runner so this is a new thing for me. Luckily, the beautiful weekend weather has been a perfect motivator! It’s also been a great way to explore the neighborhood and visit the streets I rarely drive down. On Sunday I also discover just how yummy the hangover hash at The Pug is. I might have found a new favorite neighborhood spot for bottomless mimosas.
Jon: I spent a good portion of Saturday helping prospective architects prepare for their licensure exams in Northern Virginia. Sunday’s sunny weather persuaded us to go to Home Depot for some new shrubs for our backyard. We spent the afternoon weeding, planting and mulching. We finished up the day with a trip up to Silver Spring for dinner at
the Parkway Deli. I only wish that place was closer.
Maria: Spent an unhealthy amount of time coveting real estate. In between poking in and out of houses, she also ate and slept and said NO an outrageous amount of times and deliberately skipped taking pictures of Supermoon.
Lauren: Saturday was spent on the tarmac at Logan airport – where the pilot told us it was the first time in his career a plane had ever been over fueled and therefore too heavy to land. It takes 90 minutes of sitting on the runway to remove extra fuel, 85 of which I spent having visions of the plane bursting into flames midair. For all you air travel
aficionados, we had 26,000 gallons and only needed 12,000. Sunday I went to the gym, entertained a friend’s baby for a few hours and did some house cleaning.
Nichole: On Friday I went to bed early to prepare for a full Saturday which consisted of my 6th day of a 30 Day Challenge at Capitol Hill Bikram Yoga, followed by the successful procurement of Golden Tickets for this year’s Dark Lord Day, followed by a trip out to the Patuxent River to sleep under the stars and Supermoon. Sunday I was a little sad to cut out of camp early to meet with a client, but I’m just happy I got to watch the Supermoon rise over the river at one of my favorite spots in the area!
Jen: Thoroughly enjoyed my first weekend off in a month by relaxing with my family, getting the little sluggers to their respective baseball activities and finally having dinner at Acqua al 2. Excellent food and fantastic service but the highlight was seeing Claudia’s First Bite review framed and on the wall!
