Normally, our charming (which is the word my mother-in-law uses to mean “tiny”) 2/1/1 is just the right size — not too big, not too small. Then come those winter days when my better half and I are both at home for a couple of days during the week, when he has a snow day but I am still working because, well, my office is ten steps from the bedroom. Then I start thinking,”wouldn’t just a little more space be nice?”
It is in that frame of mind that I stumbled upon this week’s featured house, a 4/3/1 at 318 G St, NE. This lovely lady not only has the benefit of being near the metro for those days when tiny flakes completely snarl traffic, but she also has a garage to make disinterring the car a thing of the past. Once inside, I envision my new, spacious office in the finished basement within chair rolling distance of the built-in bar. When he’s snowed in, hubby can have the top floor, including the master bedroom and en suite bath, all to himself. We’ll meet in the middle to make dinner in the perfectly proportioned and outfitted kitchen. Okay, so its more than TWICE the size of our current house. Let it snow … let it snow … let it snow.
Check out this and the rest of this weekend’s open houses. Thanks to Phil and Jeanne for sharing the link!
