CSX Project Denied Grant Funds, Seeks Alternative Funds

JDLand, The Washington Post, and now Tommy Wells are reporting that CSX did not receive the Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) Grant funds necessary to begin work on the Virginia Avenue Tunnel project. While the Virginia Avenue project does not have immediate funding, CSX spokesperson Steve Flippin shared the company’s continued commitment to “find funding for the remaining projects in [Maryland] and [the District] so that the full benefits of the National Gateway can be realized.”
