Barracks Row:

Get Your Barracks Row Culinary Education Crawl Tickets, 1/28-2/2

You can learn all about the art of the doughnut at District Doughnut. Photo via Instagram.

If you love cooking and supporting the local economy, Barracks Row Main Street has you covered! You still have time to sign up for the Barracks Row Culinary Education Crawl, a great opportunity to learn and improve your cooking skills and do something fun and different (it’s also a bit of a mouthful to say, so you know it’ll be tasty).

The classes will take place at the participating businesses’ locales, as well as at the Hill Center, 921 Pennsylvania Avenue SE.

Many of the classes welcome younger cooks; in fact, the registration page states that future chefs 12 and over are welcome to all classes –except the ones featuring alcohol. The class I find most intriguing is the Valentine’s Day menu that teaches you how to prepare duck. Duck is delicious but a bit tricky, so this could be a welcome addition to my cooking repertoire.

Take a look at the catalog of classes by following this link: Culinary Education Crawl Schedule. You may only sign up online via Eventbrite, and the registration closes a day or two before the class takes place, so make sure you nab your tickets soon.
