Happy Autumn! Pay no attention to the mosquitoes and muggy weather: It’s time to enjoy all the pumpkin spice, dammit!

Tonight, East City Books host a fundraiser for local non-profit DC Diaper Bank. From 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., enjoy refreshments generously provided by a local restaurant while browsing the shop and learning more about the DC Diaper Bank by chatting with founder and local baddass Corinne Cannon. At 7:00 p.m., author Amanda Moniz will read from and discuss From Empire to Humanity: The American Revolution and the Origins of Humanitarianism, her new book exploring the history of philanthropy in early America. Moniz and Cannon with lead a discussion about how philanthropy shapes our community. 20% of your purchases that evening will be directed towards the diaper bank. Celebrate Oktoberfest at the Hill Center with Beer expert Greg Engert (Churchkey and Bluejacket) and chef Nate Anda of Red Apron team up to provide pairing of rare German ales and lagers with a variety of house-made, German-inspired Red Apron meats. They’ll be serving up 5 pairings and will discuss the reasons for each. The coast is $49 and you can purchase your ticket here.

Friday night ARTnight at Capitol Hill Arts Workshop (CHAW) this week is Craft and Craft Beer Night.  Teaching artist Clay Hollenkamp welcomes you to bring whatever project you may be working on and engage with other local creatives while enjoying beers from DC Brau (limit two per person.) The cost is $35 and you can learn more here.

Saturday is the annual Barracks Row Festival. Councilmember Charles Allen will open the festival along with David Perry, Chairman of the Board Barracks Row Main Street, at noon. There are some new additions to the line up including a butterfly release by Taoti Creative the soon to open play space The Skill Zone. Mentalist (not magician) Max Major will astonish. (He actually is pretty impressive if magical is your thing.) The full schedule of events is here.

That evening at the Atlas Performing Arts Center local jazz dynamo Brad Linde brings to life the works of legendary Ornette Coleman along with guitarist Josh Walker. Tickets are $20 – $28 and are available here.

Yards Park hosts On Tap magazine’s annual annual Wiener 500 Dachshund dash, an annual charity event which benefits the Washington Humane Society. The event begins at 1 p.m. with  beer, food trucks and live music, then come the races, with live broadcast on the 17 foot jumbotron and play-by-play from Wes Johnson, voice of the Capitals. All humans and pups are welcome to attend this free and silly event.

Art All Night, the city-wide overnight all-arts festival, returns to H Street. Streetcar riders will be treated to live performances on the move, the new Anthology building (home to H Street’s first Starbucks– sigh) hosts a variety of performers and events. Other sites include the Atlas Performing Arts Center, the Logan Arts Space and the Starburst Plaza. Night owls enjoy! A full listing of the H Street events are here.

Sunday, violin duo Miolina will perform Folk & Fury, a program inspired by the history of the Americas. The duo specializes in modern compositions and has had performed in the US and Europe. Guest violinist Machiko Ozawa will be joining them. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. Get yours here.
