U.S. Botanic Garden Summer Concert Series Kicks Off June 2

The United States Botanic Garden’s American Roots Music Concert Series kicks off this Thursday, June 2. The summer concert series, which the USBG first offered in 2015, celebrates American roots music – Americana and folk, country, blues, jazz, and even zydeco.

Concerts June through August will be held outdoors on the USBG Conservatory Terrace to enjoy the USBG’s summer garden exhibit Flourish Inside and Out (rain location inside the Conservatory in the Garden Court). September and October concerts will move indoors into the Conservatory’s Garden Court. All concerts are free of charge. Provided seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis or bring your own blanket or chair.

June 2              5 – 7 pm          Bob Margolin (blues)
June 16            5 – 7 pm          Dave Chappell (Western swing)
July 7              5 – 7 pm          Jarekus Singleton (blues)
July 21            5 – 7 pm          Fast Eddie & The Slowpokes (blues)
August 4         5 – 7 pm          The Crawdaddies (cajun, zydeco, rock fusion)
August 18       5 – 7 pm          Vintage#18 (soul and blues)
September 8    3 – 5 pm          The Brummy Brothers (bluegrass-roots rock)
September 22  3 – 5 pm          Bobby Thompson (blues)
October 6        3 – 5 pm          Big Virginia Sky (bluegrass-Americana)
October 20      3 – 5 pm          Les Deux (folk-rock/blues fusion)

The U.S. Botanic Garden is open to the public, free of charge, every day of the year from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Conservatory is located at 100 Maryland Ave. SW, on the southwest side of the U.S. Capitol.
