Sometimes the news is so incredibly sad and inexplicable that there is very little to say. Such is the case in the death of Stephanie Goodloe. Goodloe, who was a youth pastor at Mount Gilead Baptist Church, was described by her friends as a “God-fearing passionate woman with an infectious smile” left behind a daughter, Simaya, when she was killed in the early hours of Saturday, June 18. Although it wasn’t in early reports, her friend and coworker, Arlene Hurt, asserts that Goodloe was a victim of domestic violence, which makes the situation for her young daughter even more harrowing. Arlene has set up a GoFundMe page to help collect funds for Simaya and Stephanie’s mother, in order to see them through this terrible time for their family.
