Sunday

Stroll down to the Capitol lawn with a picnic for the best seats in the house to the annual National Memorial Day concert. The concert starts at 8pm, but get there early to get through security and to set up a picnic. These are the types of things that make living in our neighborhood so special.

Brunch idea: Why not try the much-vaunted Dim Sum brunch at Maketto, 1351 H Street NE, and take advantage of their Memorial Day sale? It started yesterday, but it goes on through Monday. For details and eye candy, click here: https://www.instagram.com/p/BFzUVgGBi99/

Monday

In honor of Memorial Day, take a walk down the Mall to the many memorials that honor those who gave their lives while serving our country. Rolling Thunder may be a bit of a traffic headache, but the number of vets in town is also a reminder of the number of people who have sacrificed so much.
