Oh hello. I hear it may be warm this weekend so I may venture out of the house. Or not. For those of you who would like to venture out, here’s what’s happening.

Tonight Jane Mayer of The New Yorker magazine sits down with journalist Bill Press for this month’s session of Talk of the Hill to discuss her new book Dark Money: The Hidden History of the Billionaires Behind the Rise of the Radical RightThe talk begins at 7 p.m. and is free and registration is strongly encouraged. You may still have time to finish Make Your Home Among Strangers by Jennine Capó to be able to participate in tonight’s Capitol Hill Reads event at Bayou Bakery at 6:30pm. The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Southeast Library. Contact David.Quick2@dc.gov for more information.

Friday morning Councilmember Charles Allen holds his community office hours at Radici Market (303 7th St SE) from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Come and share what’s on your mind.

This week’s Friday Art Night at CHAW is Working From the Figure, an adults only drawing class with a live model. All are invited to come and draw, learn and be a part of the community. The cost is $15 and participants are encouraged to bring snacks to share. Learn more here.

Saturday morning fuel up at for the day at the Boy Scout Pancake Breakfast. Troop 500 will be flipping pancakes from 8am until noon so even you late risers have a chance to chow down for a good cause. There will be four kinds of pancakes, bacon, sausage, juice, coffee, tea, hot cocoa and milk, and unlimited seconds. Tickets, are available at the door or from Troop 500 Scouts, and are $15 for adults and $5 for children under 12. The breakfast takes place at Capitol Hill Presbyterian Church at 4th and Independence Ave SE.

So you know one thing we all have in common? Yep. We are all going to die. If not on the Hill well than somewhere. Congressional Cemetery is screening the documentary A Will for the Woods, which is about green burial. The screening is at 6pm and is free. RSVP tompuglisi@congressionalcemetery.org if interested in attending. It isa $15v drop in cost and participants are encouraged to bring snacks to share. Saturday evening at CHAW catch a performance of Three Days of Rain, the story  recalls Greenwich Village in the early 1960s when two young architects (unaware they’re on the brink of fame) struggle with plans for the iconic Janeway House. The journal is left to their children thirty years later, who must sort out the murky mystery behind their lives. Learn more here.
