Dining:

Pineapple and Pearls Opens (For Coffee) This Friday

pineapple and pearlsEater DC shared last week that while Pineapple and Pearls’s dinner will not be ready for another couple of months, owner Aaron Silverman hoped to open its coffee bar soon. Yesterday, The Washington Post confirmed that the coffee bar will open this Friday at 8am. The Post reports “The coffee bar will serve Tuesdays through Saturdays but will not have any seating until the patios at both Rose’s and Pineapple and Pearls become available in warmer weather. Everything is for takeaway.”

The menu will also be limited at the beginning, with only espresso drinks and drip coffee, which is all from Parlor Coffee in Brooklyn. Read the full story, and why Silverman is working with Parlor, here.

Need a refresher? Pineapple and Pearls is opening in the space directly next to Rose’s Luxury, which was home to Homebody. The neighborhood home goods store has since relocated to 7th Street across from Eastern Market, on the first floor of The Forecast. If you have not yet checked out their new space, get over there!

Pineapple and Pearls will serve coffee during the day (five days a week) and will turn into a fine dining restaurant with a prix-fixe tasting menu on week nights. Unlike Rose’s Luxury, Pineapple and Pearls will take reservations.
