Starting the New Year Right with Hourly Husbands

2015 just gasped its last and you may be starting to clean house after the holidays–or at least some of you are. Here to help you with the job is a new handyman service called Hourly Husbands.

While putting away decorations, you may discover little things that need fixing around the house: Maybe your gutters need cleaning, or the one bit of damage from the derecho a few years ago is still with you (compleeeeetely hypothetical here, folks). Or maybe you just need someone to touch up paint; or perhaps the influx of visitors over the holidays left your toilet a little leaky. Hourly Husbands can help you when life hands you odd bits and ends of lemons.

I was recently offered a free trial of DC-based Hourly Husbands’ services –which was not in any way as salacious as it sounds. Their website, which you can access at http://hourlyhusbands.com is easy to navigate. You click the top right tab where it says “Book a Husband” and modify the details (time, date, type of chore) and after receiving a confirmation call or email from the company –I got my confirmation from Sarah– you get a visit from one of the guys. On the day of my service call, José arrived right on time. Although I had already discussed the nature of the chores I needed fulfilled, José double-checked and inspected the situation. He cleaned the gutters and painted over a patch that had water damage– a job that is not only time-consuming but which is also hard to perform, as water stains are tough to make disappear with paint alone. (Okay, so it wasn’t hypothetical.)

José took the time necessary to perform the jobs I’d specified in an efficient and professional manner. He came well prepared, and when one of the jobs in question needed additional supplies, he went to get them in record time. He also left the work area spotless– or, well… as spotless as he found it when he first arrived because #reallife.

If you are ready to give the Hourly Husbands a try and finally take care of those pesky jobs you’ve been meaning to tackle since last year, you can book directly through their website, http://hourlyhusbands.com, or give them a call at 202-455-9100. Make sure you tell them we sent you!
