For the past few years, local beekeepers have kept beehives in the mausoleums of Congressional Cemetery, 1805 E Street SE. Now that summer is, for all practical purposes, done, comes the sweet part: the honey harvest. This is the second year the harvest takes place. You can now purchase the honey, deliciously dubbed, “Rest in Bees,” at the Cemetery giftshop for $20/jar. The giftshop is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5p.m. (except Monday September 7, Labor Day). Honey is not just delicious but has great health benefits– although you should never feed honey to an infant. Plus, come on: Rest in Bees? It’s almost as good as Yoga Mortis, the free outdoor yoga series at the Cemetery.
