Who says culture and events can only happen on the weekends? This is Capitol Hill, where even the churches have the most amazing things going on –on a Tuesday, no less! St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, at the corner of 3rd and A Streets SE is such a place and has such an event tomorrow, July 28, starting at 7:30 p.m. This event opens the 2015 Capitol Hill Chamber Music Festival. which will have more events coming in October.

Hang on to your hat, music geeks, Bach lovers, and cool cats who want to soak up some culture. From the press release, this is what you have to look forward to hearing tomorrow:

Four fabulous new sonatas for flute and harpsichord by Johann Sebastian Bach: one comes down to us as a work for solo organ, another for harpsichord and violin, one for either 2 flutes and harpsichord or viola da gamba and harpsichord, and one for flute, violin and harpsichord (the Musical Offering trio sonata). The sublime sentiments contained in Bach’s largest well-known works for chorus, soloists and orchestra are crystallized in these works by Bach for just one, two or three instruments.

The festival has a free will offering-based ticketing system at the door and online, where you pay $20 or $25 per ticket.  Youth 18 and under is admitted free of charge (this is a child-friendly event).

If you would like to purchase ADVANCE TICKETS, you may do so via BrownPaperTickets.com.
