Some think of March as a strange, chameleon-like month of weird weather, lambs, lions and broken umbrellas. However, on Capitol Hill we’d like you to associate March with one and only one thing: SPENDING MONEY ON THE NEIGHBORHOOD’S KIDS.
That’s right: we are in the thick of auction season, and this weekend brings us Tyler Elementary’s Alchemy of Good Taste. The Alchemy, as its name indicates, is a blend of things that when brought together make magic. Such is the case here: take bite-sized culinary offerings from tasty restaurants around the neighborhood, like Sona Creamery and Radici, and pair it with excellent beer (DC Brau!) and wines from Chat’s Liquors among others, throw in local band Stop Thief! in the beautiful North Hall of Eastern Market, and you get magic. (You may subsequently get things that can be solved with two Advil, plenty of water and rest, and being aware of the Ides of March, fwiw. I warned you.)
There will be lots of original Tyler Elementary student art, as well as a raffle and many auction items. And guess what? You get a commemorative glass for attending!
