What’s happening this weekend everyone? Oh right! That’s why you are reading this. Well let’s see what I can find for us to do this weekend…

Tonight  you begin that crash course in Belly dancing, because January. It’s happening at CHAW from 7:30 to 8:30. They are running a registration special right now so you have nothing to lose and you may learn how to undulate. Learn all about it here.

Or you can sit still at the Hill Center and catch episodes 3 and 4 of Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy at 7:30.  It’s free, but register here.

Friday night at 6:30 learn to cook Thai specialties at the Hill Center with chef Wendi James. You’ll do some prep, learn some skills then eat and drink. The fee is $65 and you can register here.

Saturday, why not spend the afternoon drinking outside with hundreds of strangers? From 2pm to 6pm Yards Park is hosting the free event Ice Yards which promised a “ski chalet vibe” to go along with waiting in line for beer. They also promise hot tubs and fire pits to warm your toes. You may want to RSVP on eventbrite so they know how well to staff those icebars.

Get in a workout for a good cause at the Anacostia Arts Center at “Zumbathon: Dance for Freedom.” The event has been organized to  raise awareness for the fight against human trafficking. All proceeds and donations will go to Destiny Rescue an organization that exists to Rescue, Restore, Protect, Empower and be a Voice for the Voiceless. The event is from 11am to 1pm and participation is by donation. Register here.

The Rosedale Library is celebrating the 150th anniversary of the publication of Alice in Wonderland all day with activities andcrafts and a screening of the Disney film.

Sunday might be a good time to catch up on the Oscar nominated films you missed.

Monday is a Day of Service in remembrance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Have you volunteered yet?
