Each year parent volunteers from St. Peter School on Capitol Hill pull together a colossal social fundraiser to support the school and further its mission. This year they have gone the extra mile for the Annual St. Peter School Annual Auction & Gala – A Night at the Races! On Saturday, February 7, the gala will commence at 6:00 p.m. at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel near the southwest waterfront and includes open bar, seated dinner, “live” horse races, and both silent and live auctions in addition to other fun surprises. What items might entice you to raise your auction paddle and prance into the winner’s circle? Here are just a few of the many wonderful prizes available:
- A two-week session for your son or daughter at Camp St. Charles or a week-long session for your budding basketball star at Morgan Wootten’s summer basketball camp.
- Tickets to the opening night performance and after-party for an upcoming show at the Arena Stage.
- Two tickets to Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.
- A night our for 4 starting with drinks at Barmini by Jose Andres, followed by a chef tasting menu at Zaytina, including 2 bottles of wine and all tax and gratuity.
- A three-night stay in a fabulous downtown Charleston, South Carolina condo.
The Auction is open to the public, and tickets can be purchased by visiting the school’s website for the event. For those of you looking for an even more exciting night out, VIP packages are available that include an overnight stay at the Mandarin Oriental and tickets to the pre-auction Cocktail Party that same evening. Several items will also be available for online auction bidding if you cannot attend the event but still would like to take part and support the school. The online auction opens a week before the gala on February 7 but should be viewable online about a week prior. Each year the Auction raises funds that go directly to tuition assistance, improvements to school facilities, and academic program enhancements. Proceeds from the gala ensure no student is turned away due to lack of financial resources.
