How are you holding up? What with the egg nog and ugly sweaters and we haven’t even gotten to the latkes yet. Here’s a few more ways to fill your dance cards this weekend.

Tonight Theatre Alliance previews its production of Langston Hughes Black Nativity. You’ll have to cross the 11th Street bridge into Anacostia to the Anacostia Playhouse but according to these folks the show is worth it. The show runs through January 4th and tickets are available here.

Friday night Step Afrika! returns to the Atlas with their Annual Holiday Step Show. The evening generally feels like a very fun house party and is family friendly. The show runs through December 22nd and tickets are available here.

Waterfront Church is offering the opportunity to get your picture taken with Santa from 5pm to 9pm. There will cocoa, cookies and bouncy things for the kids and everything is free. Santa’s sleigh will be parked at Courtyard Marriott Navy Yard 140 L Street SE.

Friday night 6:30pm to 8:30pm  is another Paint ‘n Sip at the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop. Don’t worry if you have no artistic talent, CHAW staff is on hand to offer advice. Your mom will love whatever you paint so don’t worry. The $30 registration fee includes materials and beverages.

Saturday afternoon from 1pm to 4pm St. Mark’s Church, (3rd and A Sts. SE.) hosts a Gingerbread House-making fundraiser for CHAW. Participation is donation-based.

At the actual CHAW location is the Annual Winter Performance Festival and Arts Showcase. There will be student performances and an art show as well as a performance by Faction of Fools which benefits the Homeless Children’s Playtime Project. A full list of events can be found here.

Sunday get some shopping done at Parcel Market. All weekend long Canal Park (200 M Street SE) will be bustling with a contemporary take on the holiday shopping experience. Local artisan and restaurants will offer their goods for keeping or gifting while local musical acts entertain the weary shoppers. And if all else you can always skate. The line up of vendors and performers changes each day so plan your shopping here.
