Friday, November 7

Honfleur and Vivid Solution Galleries – 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Sheila Crider exhibits work in Volume at Honfleur Gallery and Vivid Solutions Gallery showcases the works of seven artists in the exhibit PHOTOBOOK. For details on both exhibits, click here.

Touchstone Gallery – 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Join Touchstone Gallery for the opening of three new exhibitions which focus on both photography and collage. The gallery will also display festive ornaments that visitors can purchase to support the Potomac Conservancy. For more information about November events, click here.

Publick Playhouse – 6:45 p.m.

Painter Luis Peralta exhibits new work in Freedom Series. The exhibition seeks to remind viewers that freedom is a dynamic and continuous process that exists within all of us. For more details about Peralta’s exhibit, click here.

Joan Hisaoka Gallery – 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Curator Jennifer Lindsay seeks to challenge assumptions about the space and the functionality of the dwellings in which we live. Titled Urban Bungalow, the exhibition has transformed the gallery with handmade furniture and “common” home objects created by fourteen artists. For more information, click here.

Saturday, November 8

Gateway Arts District – 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Join Brentwood Arts Exchange, 39th Street Gallery, Gateway Arts Center, and ez Storage Studios for open studio tours. Visit the artists of the Gateway Arts District and see them at work. For more information about how to RSVP for tours, click here.

Tours take place throughout the Gateway Arts District along US Route 1.

 

American University Museum at the Katzen Arts Center – 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The Washington Sculptors Group presents the works of fifteen artists in Sculpture NOW 2014. Join them as they celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the WSG. For more information about artists and the exhibit, click here.

Hamiltonian – 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. POSTPONED

In group exhibition Fellows Converge, Hamiltonian Fellows had to think outside of their studio practice and come together to respond to a concept chosen by guest curator, Klaus Ottmann. Ottmann uses the essay, “The Storyteller,” by Walter Benjamin to craft a theme of art as exploration and shared experience. For more details about the exhibition, click here.

Sunday, November 9

Pleasant Plains Workshop – 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Join Pleasant Plains Workshop for the third installment of the Georgia Avenue Window Walk. This public art project engages community members, local businesses, and visitors as they “connect to the history and current culture of Georgia Avenue.” For more information about the event, click here.
