So there are some rather exciting baseball games scheduled for this weekend, but we can’t all be there. So are some ideas for the rest of us.

Friday and Saturday Yards Park is hosting pre-game Nats parties featuring bands, food trucks and family-friendly activities. Festivities begin at 3pm both days. The parties continue during the actual games for those without tickets. Listen to the play-by-play by CBS Radio Broadcasts.  Go Nats!

Saturday is the annual Dead Man’s Run at Congressional Cemetery. The 5k begins in the cemetery with the sound of a funeral bell and hits the Anacostia Trail. When the race is over hit the beer tent to celebrate. Costumes are encouraged and prizes will be awarded. The 5k is $40 and the kids’ fun run is $10 with all proceeds going toward the preservation of the historic place of rest. More information can be found here.

Saturday evening the Capitol Hill Art League presents an all media exhibit at CHAW titled “Anything Goes“. The exhibit opening is from 5pm to 7pm with remarks by the show’s curator Michael Janis at 5:30pm.

Sunday afternoon listen to traditional music from Ukraine and Eastern Europe. The trio Gerdan performs a concert at the Hill Center from 4pm to 6pm.  Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 the day of the show. ($10 for students.)
