My name is Andy Clark, and I am running to be the next commissioner for ANC 6A01. I’m running for the ANC seat for one simple reason, I care about this neighborhood. I have built relationships with individuals and families whose diverse interests and backgrounds make our community so beautifully unique. As a result, I have come to care deeply about the future of our neighborhood. I care about Sondra, a DC born and raised neighbor who now owns her longtime family home. I care about John and Emily, who just welcomed a new beautiful baby into our neighborhood. I care about the restaurants and businesses of H Street that have played a crucial role in the development of our neighborhood. I care about Barrett, Phoebe, Kate, and Gerard all young professionals sharing a house in our neighborhood. I care about Junior, our local handy man always ready to do whatever project needs to get done.
A native New Englander I moved to the District of Columbia following college and have never looked back. I work for an education non-profit and share a beautiful row house with two young professionals on 11th Street NE. Ever since moving to H Street I have felt a strong desire to serve this neighborhood and give back.
As a candidate I’m not going to tell you that I have all the answers to the problems we face as a community. However, I will tell you that I care, I care about the problems that affect you and your family. Most importantly, I care about finding solutions and continuing to build a safe and prosperous community for all of us.
As your commissioner, I will listen to your opinions and thoughts on the pressing issues we are facing. I plan on holding monthly meeting specific for our ANC 6A01 district to give everyone in our community a place to bring their concerns and suggestions. Together, I’m confident we can continue to make H Street a great place for all to live. I look forward to meeting you soon.
