Some Hill Streets Closed Saturday for Rock n' Roll Half Marathon

logoLast week I spotted a brochure attached to my fence and thought it was another pizza menu. It was, in fact, a reminder of the upcoming road closures due to this weekend’s Rock n Roll Marathon. Good move — kind and thoughtful too — event organizers! The course goes through all quadrants of the cities, but unless you plan accordingly, it might feel like all 32,000 runners are determined to mess with your day. The finish line is at 22nd and C Street Northeast, just to the north of RFK Stadium.

Among the streets on the Hill affected are: North Capitol Street, K Street NE, H Street NE, C Street NE, East Capitol Street, North Carolina Avenue and Constitution Avenue, as well as various  numbered streets between 2nd and 13th Street Northeast. PLEASE check the map link to determine your own routes.

Start-time is 7:45 a.m. on Saturday, but some of the street closings will begin as early as midnight. The closed streets should be reopened by 2 p.m.
