Favorite Bar on the Hill: Update

Hello everyone! Just in case you’re joining us now, here is our fascinating sports update, minus the gruesome injuries! When we started off with our Boozy Sixteen, we never imagined we would see vote counts in the thousands! You guys sure love your bars!

Some of the matches were very civil: the Tune Inn Vs. Tunnicliff’s bracket was a cliffhanger, with only ONE vote breaking up what looked like a dead heat. Speaking of dead heats, we had to hold a sudden death vote for Kelly’s Irish Times Vs. The Dubliner who were tied at the end of their regulation time.

But one of the most hotly contested matches was between heavyweights The Argonaut and The Queen Vic: after some extremely spirited voting, the Vic pulled ahead in the final hours.

In one of the biggest upsets — one that may be called a veritable Cinderella story — newcomer Hank’s On The Hill absolutely crushed first seed and tournament favorite Wisdom, with a whopping 90 percent of the vote!

The Pug won handily over beloved Trusty’s, who seemed to have it in the bag at first. Little Miss Whiskey’s let the good times roll all over Biergarten Haus. Finally, Lola’s finessed her way to the top over The Ugly Mug — a contest of petite beauty over brawn, perhaps?

The next few matches will be short and deadly. You will have the chance to vote later today to see who will advance to the Foamy Four. Bur for now, here is your updated bracket! Behold and rejoice or, you know, weep.

  1. Loretta Kane says:

How do you NOT include Mr. Henry’s, Lil Pub or the Phase in the running? Not a serious list without at least one of those.

    • Hi Loretta, I think you probably missed our polls back in August and September of last year, from which we narrowed down the field for our current series. All of the pubs you list in your comment were there but did not obtain enough votes to go on to the next round. They need passionate people like you to vote for them and spread the word!
