Monday Morning Circle Time

Good morning everyone! It was such a nice weekend. Okay perhaps a little too nice for early December. I heard that here were some confused trees around town beginning to bud so I hope they are still able to bloom in the spring. The holiday season is officially upon us with cookies and open houses and egg nog wherever you turn. This year is no different than any other with and so early December has me vowing not to be insane, last minute and frantic which often results in me doing just that by Christmas Eve. I hope you, dear reader, are better able to maintain your sanity and sense of joy.

What did everyone do this weekend?

Maria kicked off the weekend by catching The Muppets with her moppets and treating the attending audience to the ensuing performance art piece by the two-year old. At least some people were kind enough to laugh when he repeated “AWKWARD!” ten times (I know, kid. I know). Saturday allowed her to meander through Del Ray in a fruitless attempt to evade her mounting workload for final projects. Later that night, she filmed the Hipster House Cleaner for one of said projects at the Red Palace, and then later celebrated recording footage correctly with a drink at Senart’s. Sunday was calm and filled with cleaning and busywork, and more project-related visits, and ended calmly, with the happy hum of the dryer and the external hard drive for company.

Lauren: Saturday we got our tree at Fragers. Major kudos to the sales girl who helped – she helped guide us to the perfect tree for Cap Hill homes – tall and not too wide!! Sunday we decorated the rest of the house, addressed Christmas cards and tried to figure out what to buy the people on our lists for Christmas.

Jen spent the weekend in early Christmas prep. The kids went to a party on Friday while she decorated the Atlas lobby. Saturday we bought a tree at the Brent Elementary sale and had dinner at friends that evening. Sunday we decorated the tree and I spent the afternoon and evening at the Atlas’ 6th Annual Carol Sing and for a brief moment during the 12 Days of Christmas I almost felt Chritmassy…
