Fun for Your Humpday: Mayor Fun

Hey there people!

Earlier today I was chatting with an acquaintance and the subject of our venerable mayor, Mr. Vincent Gray, rolled around.  Specifically, that while Mayor Gray can cut quite a dashing figure at 68, he can also look puzzlingly like, well…. let’s just say that sometimes I half-expect to see him laugh in a sinister way and start to count something.

Apparently, I am not alone in this:

For instance, here is a comment included in this post from the Washington City Paper –which incidentally features a picture where Vince Gray looks like he’s ready to count TEN LINCOLN NAVIGATORS AH AH AH AH AH!

An alert DCist reader noted Mayor Gray’s uncanny resemblance to Gomez Addams –who, while not exactly undead, does have a certain panache and a penchant for the strange.  (This is probably the certain “something” that makes him a natural for DC government.)

What do you guys think?  This side-by-side is actually making me think of “Who Wore it Better?” comparisons in entertainment magazines.  I do have to give the slight edge to the Mayor, though, because he somehow manages to rock the thinner mustache, which I am sure is more labor intensive than Gomez’s caterpillar-style.

Finally, Listen to Leon quotes himself in a post recapping some of the administration’s faux-pas of yore and not-so-yore, and it is priceless:

“I’ll be perfectly honest: it all boils down to the fact that I trust Gray less than Fenty, whom I also distrust, but not quite as much. Vince Gray looks like [if] he weren’t in politics, he’d be tying some chick to the railroad tracks right now, twirling his mustache while his little dog Muttley snickers on the sideline. Maybe my theory that he’s actually The Count from Sesame Street is inaccurate, but he just looks like he has a few long, drawn-out evil schemes or two in mind.”
