The great thing about moving the clocks back on Sunday morning was the extra hour of sleep.  But now it’s dark earlier, which makes for a sad trade-off.  Then again, the 7:30 am sunrises were a bit rough.  There is something very unmotivating about it still being dark when I leave the gym after finishing my workout!  Most of what I have for you this week is food-related so I hope you’re hungry!

  • Mike Debonis reported that Kelvin Robinson, who lost the democratic nomination for Ward 6 City Council to Tommy Wells, picked up forms for the Democratic appointment to fill Kwame Brown’s At-Large City Council seat until a special election can be held.
  • Thrillist checked out the Atlas Room, which is rumored to be opening later this week on H Street.
  • Prince of Petworth got a sneak peek at DC3, which is opening this Wednesday on 8th Street.  Nichole and I got to check it out last night and will have a review up for you shortly.  I had no idea you could serve a hot dog so many ways!
  • Washington Post shared some recommendations for spots to host a holiday party, including several on H Street.  H Street Great Street also recommends the upstairs of Toyland.
  • Prince of Petworth spotted a new liquor license request for a possible new beer garden south of the freeway.
